The Taylor Family began breeding Brahman’s in 1986. Our Stud name ‘Clukan’ originated from the Taylor boys names. Clint – Luke – Ryan 22 years on and the stud has exceeded all our expectations.

The turning point for the Stud was in 1997 when, in partnership with John & Gay Rosenthal we explored new ground with Embryo Transfer programs. We started with the best of the ‘Kabala’ females and used direct Hudgins genetics from America.

Our breeding herd of 130 cows & heifers are now predominantly Full Hudgins bloodlines. Our breeders carry top Hudgins genetics including

Top honours for the Stud came in 2003 when ‘Clukan’ was placed first in the ‘Ten Top Vendors’ for Brahman Week with a draft average of $11,857 and fourth place in the Top Ten Bulls topping $30,000 for the draft.

Another highlight for the stud was at the 2005 Gympie Female Sale where 5 embryo heifers averaged $17,000.

In 2007, the stud achieved the top price for a Brahman Female. Clukan Karla 141 sold for $44,000 to Tony Hayne - Northern Vet Services NT Karla also holds the Gympie Saleyards Record.
